Downtown Boise is losing another retailer: This time, it's running store See Jane Run.
The San Francisco-based women's sporting goods retailer is closing its only store outside of the Bay Area on Saturday, Jan. 19, according to the store's Facebook page.
See Jane Run has been in Boise for six years and is the sponsor of an annual women's half-marthon and 5K race, but store officials promised that the race will go on. According to the announcement, the store will host a "two-day expo, chocolate, champagne and a whole bunch of wild and dancing fun."
The store has already started advertising sales of up to 50 percent off some merchandise, including 20 percent off all shoes and electronics, 45 percent off all sale shoes, and 50 percent off clothing. And the store seems intent on going out with a cheer rather than a whimper, offering shoppers champagne starting at 6 p.m. today, as well as extended hours.
Anyone holding gift certificates or credit will be able to use them either at the company's three stores in California, or online, and See Jane Run will be honoring free shipping on all returns for the next month, according to the release.
