Isn't it a bit suspicious that so many winter activities take place out in the cold? The people who invented curling probably thought the same way. Why play out in the wind and the snow when you can play indoors?
Curling was the darling of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, as curlers showed off the skill and strategy endemic to the sport.
Idaho IceWorld is bringing curling to the masses today. For $20, you get a half-hour lesson on rules, etiquette and technique from the Boise Curling Club. Then students are let loose on the ice to show off their new skills in a short scrimmage. Classes run from 6-7:30 p.m., and from 7-8:30 p.m.
