While Boiseans awoke to uncharacteristically low temperatures Jan. 3 and Jan. 4, residents of Idaho Falls were even chillier.
In a video posted by a resident of the eastern Idaho town, a man throws a cup of steaming water into the air, only to have it cascade to the ground as fresh frost.
According to the video's uploader, the temperature was -9 degrees Fahrenheit, with a -22 degree windchill, at the time of the experiment, which is colder than Boise's record low temperature of -6, set on Jan. 3, 1910.
