Whether you're heading across Idaho on I-84 or up Highway 55, the Gem State is a vast series of horizons hemmed in by mountains and peppered with forests. Idaho is exceptional for its geographical diversity, but that diversity is imperiled by human factors like development and environmental degradation.
Artist Rachel Teannalach traveled across much of the state over the last six months following environmental advocacy projects undertaken by Advocates for the West. But instead of just looking at Idaho, she decided to paint it.
Her work will be on display at Beside Bardenay from 7-9 p.m. Entitled Landscapes for the West, the exhibition comprises more than 25 paintings.
Twenty-five percent of the exhibition's proceeds will go to Advocates of the West and its efforts to secure Idaho's natural beauty.
