Cassandra Schiffler's work is known for its playful use of line.
The Boise artist often toys with the possibilities linear forms create, as in her "Windows #6," which was selected as the cover of Boise Weekly for our May 30 issue.
As she describes on her website, Schiffler looks to explore how shapes and lines come together to create meaning, in compositions that urge the viewer to recognize pattern, shape and space, which she attributes to "an innate human sense of pattern recognition."
On Saturday, Nov. 10, Schiffler brings In Formation to the College of Idaho's Rosenthal Gallery in Blatchley Hall. The series includes painting and printmaking by Schiffler, and remains on display through Feb. 1, 2013.
