Ever wanted to pull a Lucille Ball and hop into a vat of grapes, smashing them in between your toes and feeling slightly grossed out that fruit smashed by the hairy-toed guy next to you might end up in your wine? Well, you're in luck, because today, you have two options on where to get your stomp on.
Ladies can rock a red wig, a swingy '50s-style dress and their best "Ricky" whine to compete in the I Love Lucy lookalike contest at Woodriver Cellars' Stomp Fest. From 11 a.m.-5 p.m., you can help create vino with your feet, learn about how it's made and enjoy food and drink specials along with live music. The event is FREE and promises family friendly fun.
But if you're feeling all philanthropic and want your grape-smashing to do some good, head to Indian Creek Winery. Spay Neuter Idaho Pets' Grape Stomp fundraiser is going down from 2-6 p.m., and for $40, you can partake in a grape-stomping contest, snack on harvest-themed hors d'oeuvres, and wash it down with a complimentary glass of wine. The event will also include live music and a silent and live auction, along with a no-host beer and wine bar. Not to mention the feel-goodery of helping dogs and cats.
