Hey there, uber-creative dressers. Today should go right to the top of your list of favorite days, along with sales at textile stores and receiving a new sewing machine on your birthday. And for all you other closeted creative types, get ready: Today, you can find your inner Nick Cave and saunter around downtown Boise in a piece of wearable art.
Boise Art Museum will present Suit Up and Strut at 11 a.m. in conjunction with Nick Cave: Meet Me at the Center of the Earth. The exhibit opened May 19 and features approximately 40 wearable soundsuits made from discarded materials. The wearable art has been twirled around by local dancers and spotted at various locations around Boise.
Those who want to create their own wearable art are encouraged to do so and meet at Friendship Bridge, between Julia Davis Park and Boise State, for an art parade. Get ready to make noise and garner some looks. Visit Boise Art Museum's website for more info about the exhibit and the Suit Up and Strut event.
