With fall on the horizon and all sorts of harvest-y things happening, 'tis the season to eat lots of good stuff. And while so many harvest time dinners are rife with pumpkins, squash, corn and the like, FarWest Landscape and Garden Center invites those gathering the goodness of their garden's bounty to make a more summery food staple—salsa.
Pick your pack of peppers, grab some tomatoes and slice and dice it all into a tasty homemade salsa, then head to FarWest's Salsa Festival today, located at 5728 W. State St. From 10 a.m.-4 p.m., you can enter your creation in a salsa contest and learn how to make guacamole with folks from Baja Fresh.
The event will also include prize giveaways and plenty of local produce for you to peruse. Not to mention, it's a chance to get a head start planning next year's lawn and garden design.
