Boise isn't short on music series—with the recently wrapped-up Atypical Tuesday series at Red Room, Radio Boise Tuesdays at Neurolux, and Rock and Rodeo Showcases weekly at Humpin' Hannah's.
The Boise Chamber Music Series kicks off tonight with a performance from The Lincoln Trio. What the heck is chamber music? It's quite possibly the most aptly named musical genre: music that can be played in a smaller space, i.e. a chamber, involving a small number of performers, such as a trio.
Chamber music typically has classical ties, but according to The Lincoln Trio's bio, it is "praised for its polished presentations of well-known chamber works and its ability to forge new paths with contemporary repertoire."
Violinist Desiree Ruhstrat, pianist Marta Aznavoorian and cellist David Cunliffe each have international performances under their belts and have appeared throughout the United States. You can learn more about the musicians at The Lincoln Trio's website.
Their performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Morrison Center Recital Hall, Room C200. Tickets are $25, or $20 for students and seniors.
