If your Labor Day weekend adventure didn't pan out, or you're one of the overly dedicated working souls who don't get a free day in recognition of your hard work, don't be so bummed.
True, a lot of places are closed today. But plenty are also open, and have live music for you to relax with after your holiday at work. Here's a couple of places where you can treat your mouth to a cocktail and your ears to some sweet tunes downtown.
Get your punk fix at Liquid at 9 p.m., when 1332 Records presents its weekly Punk Monday. Tonight's bands include Esmerelda Strange, Gernika and Guss Voss. The show costs $3.
Seattle folk-noir band Willow and the Embers will play at super-chic Modern Hotel and Bar from 7-9 p.m. for FREE.
More FREE music can be found at the near-resort-like Sandbar, on the backside of the Riverside Hotel. The Velvet Lounge Frogs will bring their brand of cajun/zydeco/bluegrass to the outdoor venue from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
