Few bands are more culturally compelling—in a sociological sense—than Insane Clown Posse. And no event is more fascinating than its annual festival, The Gathering of the Juggalos, a giant mayhemfest that features everything from rappers to pro wrestling, with no shortage of shenanigans in between.
Spin Magazine went in-depth on the festival's history for a new article, summing it up as "years of City Hall protests, tear gas, flash floods, infected legs, a pissed-off Bubba Sparxxx and one punched police horse."
And that's just the summary.
Spin's article covers all 13 years of the festival as an oral history, and it's some damned good reading.
