Socially conscious hip-hop artist Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are bringing The Heist world tour through Boise to the Knitting Factory on Thursday, Oct. 18. The forthcoming debut LP, The Heist, is set to be independently released on Tuesday, Oct. 9. Macklemore openly addresses hip-hop cliches, like gay-bashing, without sounding preachy and breaks down walls built on anger and fear. Tickets for the show went on sale this morning at 10 a.m. and can be acquired through ticketfly.com for $16-$45. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show will start at 8 p.m.
Another group with similar themes running through their lyrics is Atmosphere, a frequent visitor to Boise. Together, rapper Slug (Sean Daley) and DJ-producer Ant (Anthony Davis) put on an incredible live performance, often throwing some original freestyle into the lineup, ensuring no matter how often loyal fans see them live, it will never be the same show. Catch Atmosphere at the Knitting Factory with special guests DJ Just Nine, Self Devine and Carnage on Friday, Sept. 14. Tickets for the show went on sale today at 10 a.m. and are available through ticketfly.com for $24-$50. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8:30 p.m.
