Want to have your cake and eat it, too? Well, we can't help you there. But we can help you find bits of cake formed into oh-so-convenient balls that you can scoop up during your lunch hour, which is almost as good.
The Cake Ballers, purveyors of pint-sized, uber-moist sugary confections, are the adult equivalent of Santa Claus: They always deliver goodies worth waiting for but are kind of elusive. The ballers' North Pole is an adorable, chandelier-laden space adjacent to the Rose Room at 720 W. Idaho St., Ste. 40, that functions as the Cake Ballers/Eye Candy Event Design headquarters. And though you can follow The Cake Ballers on Facebook to get the scoop on upcoming events, you generally can't pop in for a treat every time you get a hankering.
Except for today. The Cake Ballers/Eye Candy have been hosting a marketplace all week, and today is your last day to drop in and load up on macaroons, pretzels and cake balls. From noon-2 p.m., you can stop by and purchase some afternoon pick-me-ups, which start at $1.50.
