The descendants of J.R.R. Tolkien and Charles Dickens are joining forces on new publications. Two children's fantasy novels, to be released later this year, will be written by Michael Tokien, J.R.R.'s oldest grandson based on stories his grandfather read to him as a child. Gerald Dickens, Charles' great-great-grandson, will narrate the audio book versions.

The first book, Wish, is inspired by a fantasy called The Rose-Colored Wish - the story of two children who try to use an evil enchanter's wishing chain of stones to save the valley where they live. The second book, Rainbow, is based on Florence Bone's 1910 novel, The Other Side of the Rainbow.

Michael Tolkien is a poet and author of fiction. Gerald Dickens is an actor, director and producer.
