The last two legs of the 2012 Toyota Weaver Seed World Jet Boat Marathon Championship on the Snake River were canceled this afternoon.
“Due to rough water on the upper part of the Snake River course, we feel this is the best decision for all of our teams,” Race Referee Larry Darnielle said.
Racing will resume tomorrow on the Clearwater River in Lewiston at 11 a.m.

Three days into the 2012 Toyota Weaver Seed World Jet Boat Marathon Championship, the elaborate safety operation highlighted in a Boise Weekly article sprung to action.
As if jet boat racing wasn't exciting enough, this past week's rain and wind made for some extra sketchy conditions. But luckily, no one was injured. The races continue through this weekend.
Organizers issued this report: During leg two at approximately 11 a.m., driver Jeff Edwardson of Orofino and navigator Ryan Hudson were piloting #269 Maniac on the Snake River when they hit a wave and came down hard. Edwardson and Hudson drove the boat safely to shore and were assisted by world jet boat race emergency response, safety boat and communications volunteers. Edwardson was transported by ambulance to a Lewiston hospital.
“Jeff was evaluated by the medical staff as a safety precaution. He is not injured and is expected to race tomorrow,” said Race Referee Larry Darnielle.
