It's St. Patrick's Day. Know what you should do? Move. No, don't pack up all your precious belongings in cardboard boxes and rent a U-Haul. Instead, pack up your kids and head south, to Hillside or Les Bois junior high school and move around.
Today from 9 a.m.-noon, you and your little ones can play with hula hoops (which are surprisingly tough to use) and jump ropes (which provide such intense cardio, you may want to pass out), enjoy renewing a family rivalry on the basketball court or channel your inner Williams sister via a variety of indoor tennis activities from the Idaho Tennis Association. Floor hockey games will also take place with equipment donated from the Idaho Steelheads, and prizes will be given out to children.
It's a great event for the kiddies, since they have unbelievable amounts of energy almost all the time, and a great event for grown-ups, since odds are they'll go out and drink a million calories worth of green beer tonight. (Get the scoop on where to do that here.)
The event is FREE and part of the Let's Move Boise initiative, which strives to combat childhood obesity through exercise-centric events. Visit letsmoveboise.com for more info.
