In case you hadn't noticed, there's still a bit of a recession going on. Couple that with rising prices for food and energy, and it can be a real blow.
While it won't make everything better, one way to ease a bit of that frustration is with some goddamn pancakes.
That's right: pancakes, or flapjacks if you prefer the historical parlance. Pancakes are sweet and moist and all kinds of cheap.
But today, they're even better than cheap, they're free.
It's Free Pancake Day at IHOP. If you're wondering what exactly happens at Free Pancake Day, the answer is pretty much in the question. If you're still confused, make use of this handy-dandy how-to guide:
1. Look at boiseweekly.com's location guide to find an IHOP.
2. Go to an IHOP.
3. Sit down.
4. Ask for and receive a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes.
5. After patting your tummy and saying, "yum," consider leaving the money you didn't spend on pancakes as a donation for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals or other local charities.
Since IHOP started the program in 2006, it has raised nearly $8 million for charity efforts.
