Haven't done your holiday shopping yet? Can't say we blame you—stores this time of year are a frustrating mess of crazed consumers all on a quest for the perfect present. Get in the way and you may end up becoming the store's new area rug.
Fortunately, you can enjoy some more low-key shopping today at the Linen Building's Holiday Sunday Market. Local artisans will have their creations on display and ready for purchase, so you can cruise the goods and keep your holiday dollars circulating in the local community. The holiday market is modeled after the Linen's always-popular Sunday market, and will feature art, jewelry and a melange of other things.
A portion of the event's proceeds will benefit the Idaho Youth Ranch, so not only can you partake in the buy-local craze, but you can do even more good with your dollar.
Bring a canned-food donation for the Boise Rescue Mission, and the kiddies can tell Santa their Christmas wishes. Dan Costello and Greg Bridges will soothe your shopping anxiety with their guitars, so you can relax and enjoy yourself. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, Sunday, Dec. 18, and Santa makes his appearance at noon.
