The people at the Treasure Valley Institute for Childrens Arts must have curiously awesome breath. The organization has come up with a fresh (ahem) fundraiser idea. On Saturday, Dec. 3, at 10 a.m., TRICA will place more than 60 empty Altoid tins on its front porch steps at 1404 Eastman St. for folks of all ages to take home and decorate. And if you get there before 10:30 a.m., you can take a tour of the not-yet-open old church.
Once you've completed your masterpiece, drop it off at Art Source Gallery before Friday, Dec. 23. The Gallery will sell the tricked-out tins for $20 each through the month of January, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go back to TRICA.
The organization will also raffle off tuition for one of its 2012 summer camps, a $165 value. A full scholarship to the camp will also be given to the winner of the most innovative design.
