Neil Young's more than 40-year-long career has influenced multiple generations of listeners. From his No. 1 hits like "Heart of Gold" and "Ohio" to what fans call the "Ditch Trilogy" of less commercially successful albums, Young has become a cultural icon.
In honor of this musician's birthday, the Record Exchange is hosting the Neil Young 66th Birthday Bash on Saturday, Nov. 12.
The party includes free craft beer from Payette Brewing, available with ID, and of course, all kinds of the birthday boy's music. CDs, vinyl and DVDs will be on sale, and the musician's record label, Reprise Records, is holding a raffle for Young-related prizes.
The bash also features live music on the Record Exchange stage. Numerous local musicians—including Steve Fulton, Thomas Paul, Ryan Peck and Dan Costello—will perform covers. Some of the performers are local artists, among others.
The bash begins at 5 p.m. at the Record Exchange, 1105 W. Idaho St. It's free for all ages. For more information, check out therecordexchange.com or call 208-344-8010.
