As usual, the Boise bicycle community kicked some serious fund-raising butt at this year's Tour de Fat.

The August event—presented by New Belgium Brewing Company—raised $43,909. That total is far more than what was raised in many larger cities, and represents a good chunk of the total of $401,563 raised at 13 events held across the country. Proceeds raised in each city go to support local biking organizations. In Boise, those organizations were the Southwest Idaho Mountain Biking Association, the Treasure Valley Bicycle Alliance and the Boise Bicycle Project.
