After six acclaimed Americana-folk albums, Idaho native Josh Ritter needed to try something new. So while he was on tour, he used any downtime he had to plug away at a novel based on one of his songs.
The result was Bright's Passage, a book Stephen King—who Ritter says is one of his favorite authors—said, "at it's best...shines with a compressed lyricism that recalls Ray Bradbury in his prime."
While in town last week for a sold-out performance and reading at The Record Exchange, Ritter took the time to discuss his tome with Boise Weekly.
