Need Something To Do Monday?

The Thrilla in Manila. The Clash of the Titans. Paper or plastic. Sometimes this town just ain't big enough for the both of us.

But today, it ain't the town, it's Monday night. There are two great events for lovers of the noble story, and there just ain't time in the day to hit 'em both.

For those who like the tried, true and well-attended, there's Story Story Night, one of Boise's most consistently attended and appreciated events, in which Boiseans get on stage and tell a live, unscripted story on a theme. This month's theme is Water, and will feature Mat Erpelding, Carly Oppie and the married duo of Andrea and Josh Bogle on the mic. They will be telling stories of hurricanes, bulimia and surviving the savage wasteland of Redfish Lake.

Story Story Night starts at 7 p.m. at The Linen Building and costs $5.

For those who wish to be daring, and probably lonelier, tonight is the final event in Alley Repertory Theater's Plays From the Alley new works reading festival. It will feature Sarah Gardner, Declan Kempe, Noah Moody and Nicole Orabona reading Solace by Jason Haskins. Solace is the story of a man facing who is confronted with his daddy issues when he brings his fiance home to meet his family.

The reading will start at 8 p.m. at Visual Arts Collective and costs $10.
