Some say it's liberating. Some claim that it's social commentary on the vulnerability of cyclists. Then there's the group that believes they are protesting the use of fossil fuel for transportation and another that aims to show that any body can ride a bike and have fun while doing so. What those participating in the Bare as You Dare bike ride have most in common, though, is a sense of humor and a bit of an exhibitionist nature.
Bare as You Dare is what it sounds like. Modeled after the World Naked Bike Ride that happens in many cities around the world annually, participants are invited to wear as little clothing as is comfy and pedal through town in the buff with like-minded free spirits.
Head to the tennis courts at Camel's Back Park to join other semi- or completely nude bikers on a ride through Boise's North End neighborhood. Be there by 9:45 p.m. (the ride starts at 10 p.m.), at which time you will be cloaked in darkness—if nothing else—for the trek.
