Despite her assertions that there will be no more Harry Potter books, it's a safe bet that she'll be announcing a new Potter-ish book, possibly something in the vein of Hogwarts: The Next Generation. But it also tickles the funny bone to think of her taking a noirish tack and writing about an aging, broken Potter drinking mead alone in a darkened pub after
Jenny Ginny left him. He spends his days there mumbling the story about the time he killed Voldemort to anyone who pities him enough to listen for a spell, and the one final case he must solve in order to set things right: the murder of his old friend Neville Longbottom. But as awesome as that sounds, it seems far more likely Rowling will scribe The Young Dumbledore Chronicles.
Whatever it is, it will likely end up fabulous and engaging, selling millions of copies and inspiring a whole new generation of
pagan readers. But we'll just have to wait until Thursday to find out.
