If you are an activist, a wannabe activist, a passionate individual or someone who is looking to have his/her voice heard, then it's time to rally. The Snake River Alliance is hosting the Boise Activist Training workshop on Saturday, June 11.
This is a one-day workshop in which activists (and those aspiring to be) have the opportunity to gather and learn how to get involved with global and local issues.
Topics include campaign development, creative resistance and messaging, how to take action safely and effectively, affinity groups, knowing your rights and more. Organizers who are experienced in direct action on national and international levels will provide the training.
This is a great chance to meet others who share concerns and are looking to promote change in the community. All are encouraged to attend, so grab a buddy, RSVP and go get activist.
The workshop runs 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Idaho Education Association Building, 602 N. Sixth St. This event is FREE and morning snacks and lunch are provided.
