Brundage Mountain in McCall is marking its final weekend of operations, making Sunday, May 15, the final day for the resort. It's also a milestone date: This is officially the latest the resort has been able to stay open in its 50 years.
And despite the mid-May date, the mountain still has more than 100 inches of snow on the summit and more than 70 inches at the base. The lingering snow is not only due to heavy snowfall in March and April, but the area even racked up a few more inches as recently as last week.
Lifts will run from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, and Sunday, May 15, and lift tickets will be discounted for closing weekend. Adult day passes cost $30 while seniors age 70 and older, and children age 17 and younger, ski for free.
