It pays to be flexible in the ski industry. Brundage Mountain Resort in McCall announced today that it is extending its already-long season by at least two more weekends, with the strong possibility that it could go even longer.

Thanks to heavy spring snowfall, the resort will say open the weekends of May 7-8 and May 14-15. The resort has been operating on weekends only for the last month, and original plans called for it to close shop on Sunday, May 1. But the mountain received 3 inches this morning with forecasts calling for even more to come. The resort's base is measuring 94 inches with 133 on top—unheard-of for late April.

The mid-May closure will be the latest in the 50-year history of the resort. The last record-long season ended on May 10.

“We have an extremely healthy snow base, and it actually continues to get deeper,” said resort spokesperson April Russell in a press release. “We’ve watched over 10 feet of snow fall in March and April, and we’ve seen very little spring melt-off this year.”

As part of the extended season, Brundage is offering some sweet deals on lift tickets for all ages.

Sun Valley Resort closed for the season on April 24, and Bogus ended its season earlier this month.
