Drinkin’ and guitar pickin’ go together like peanut butter and jelly. Or like Tyler Fortier and Ninkasi beer. The singer/songwriter just launched a three-month tour sponsored by Ninkasi Brewing of Eugene, Ore.—where the Washington native currently lives—to promote the two albums he has released this year and one that’s coming soon.
Fortier, a prolific 25-year-old alt-country rocker, mixes it up, singing lo-fi songs about the Old West as well as slicker, existential survival ballads. Think Bruce Springsteen meets Jackie Greene, then visit Fortier's Facebook page to listen to and download a couple of songs before heading downtown to catch him in the act. He will be at Reef tonight, along with opener James Orr. The show starts at 8 p.m. and is FREE.
