The Broncos will have to wait until next year for a chance to go to the big dance.

The Boise State men's basketball team went down to defeat Saturday night in the Western Athletic Conference championship game in Las Vegas' Orleans Arena. Top-seeded Utah State (30-3) sealed a NCAA tournament bid by defeating the Broncos 77-69. Boise State is not expected to receive a tournament bid when brackets are revealed. The Broncos end the season at 20-12.

Utah State seems to have Boise State's number, having beaten the Broncos twice during the regular season, in Boise on Jan. 13 and in Logan, Utah, on Feb. 5.

Saturday was the Broncos' third appearance in a WAC championship game, winning in 2008 and losing in 2005.
