The nominations for this year's Academy Awards have been announced.

The King's Speech is leading the pack with 12 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actor and Supporting Actor and Best Director. Following that is David Fincher's The Social Network with nine nods, including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay. And then there's True Grit with eight nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Toy Story 3 became only the second animated film ever to get a nomination for the overall Best Picture category, which likely cinches its victory in the Best Animated Feature as well.

The academy was sure to honor some of the year's worst films as well, with a sound editing nomination for Tron Legacy and one in the makeup category for The Wolfman.

In tomorrow's edition of Boise Weekly, we'll announce our Oscars polling contest, in which readers can vote for their picks for a chance to win tickets to Flicks.
