I've talked to Lincoln Barr, frontman for Seattle-based band Red Jacket Mine before, and familiar with his easy-going manner and predilection for palaver, asked if he'd serve as my podcast guinea pig. He all too happily agreed and for the next 23 minutes or so, he talked about the band's new bass player, a residency at Seattle's new Hard Rock Cafe and a June show at The Round in Seattle, where he played with bandmate Patrick Porter and The Posies' Ken Stringfellow—who produced Lovers Lookout—and Rebecca Gates of The Spinanes. (You can hear a podcast of the show at The Round here.)
On Friday, July 30, Red Jacket Mine will return to Boise for a show another show at VAC with Thomas Paul and New Transit, and will play Sun Valley Brewing Company in Hailey on Saturday, July 31. This will be the third time they've played Idaho since late last year in support of their sophomore release, Lovers Lookout.
