Team longshot—sorry, that's "America"—is facing Algeria Wednesday in the World Cup. And if they don't kick Algeria's heine back to, say, Algeria, then it's curtains for their chances of going all the way. Go home? We say, hell no!

However, due to the rest of the world's refusal to aquiese to the temporal constraints of our hemisphere, that game is on at 8 a.m., when most sports bars aren't open yet. What impudence!

Lucky for all y'all though, BW tracked down a few patriotic sports that will be bucking convention for mom and apple pie.

In downtown, both the Ha'Penny Bridge and the Gamekeeper Lounge will be opening early for the game. Ha'Penny at 8 a.m. and the Gamekeeper at 7:30 a.m.

Further out, the Firehouse Bar and Grill at 1767 W. Franklin Road in Meridian will be opening their doors at 7:30 a.m.

It should also be noted that El Gallo Giro, 5285 Glenwood St. in Garden City who hosted a breakfast party for the opening of the World Cup said they wouldn't do for this game because it was a team America game, not a team Mexico game. Boo! El Gallo Giro, you got some splainin' to do!
