Boise Bicycle Project has reserved the entire 8th street area between Main and Bannock for Boise Bike Week’s annual night of cycling madness between 4 and 10 tonight. Events range from a scavenger hunt to a FrankenBike contest and auction. Although I’m not entirely sure what a FrankenBike is, I can't see how it could be a bad thing.
Show up to the event on your bike and get free valet parking and a Boise Bicycle Week t-shirt. Throw in beer provided by Bitter Creek, local eats and live music, and what you got is something sure to blow your parents’ Jello mold and meatloaf-filled block parties out of the water. Local-favorites Finn Riggins and Garden City Limits are schedule to perform, as well as the
School of Rock Boise Rock School.
Alley cat racers will rip through the streets at 7 p.m., but daredevils heed caution: helmets are required. There's no excuse to not take part in this night of bicycling madness. Borrow a bike, buy a bike, heck even steal a bike. Just don't miss the Bicycle Block Party.
