I woke up this morning to sound-bytes from the debate between candidates for the Idaho Supreme Court on the radio. They were fairly heated, and covered some clearly contentious political positions about the roles and nature of the judiciary as well as specific issues. And it made me wonder, in a time when people are so concerned with the notion of "activist judges," do people really support the idea of electing judges, when elections are based so heavily on pandering to a political base? Questionland you are my barometer.
