Due to the dirge of budget difficulties Idaho has faced this session, everyone knew it was coming. But just yesterday, it became official that tuition at Idaho universities will shoot up 9% for next year. While the costs may be comparatively less than other regional universities, college is still effin' expensive, and the average student graduates more than $20,000 in debt.
So what does that have to do with your muffin top getting out of control?
The answer is that today, you can do a little something about both at the same time by trying to Beat Pete.
Boise State football coach Pete Peterson is taking on all challengers in a three-mile run to benefit Boise State's scholarship programs. In addition to the $10 entry fees, for every person who beats him, he'll donate $5. Collectively, the event has raised over $30,000 in past years, partially because Peterson admits that though he runs three miles several times a week, he doesn't run them very fast.
So whadda ya say tubby? Think you got what it takes?
