OK folks, you’ve got just more than one week left to get your entries in for two of Boise Weekly’s most popular annual contests: Bad Cartoon and Fiction 101.
Entries for both are due at BWHQ (523 Broad St., on the corner of Sixth and Broad streets) by noon on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
Winners and assorted favorites in the Bad Cartoon Contest will be published on Wednesday, Dec. 2, and the winner’s work will go on to be printed each and every week for the next year. The contest is open to anyone (artistic ability not required) and entry is free.
Fiction 101 will be published on Wednesday, Jan. 6, and judged by a prestigious panel of local wordsmiths and assorted literary experts. Better yet, winners will take home some cash—of course, the amount depends on how many entries are submitted. Cost is $10 per entry.
You can enter as many times as you’d like (at $10 a pop), but each short-form masterpiece must be exactly 101 words (as counted by Microsoft Word, excluding the title). No poetry and no handwritten entries, either.
For both Fiction 101 and Bad Cartoon, your contact information must be on the BACK of each entry.
