The event is no longer at the Stueckle Sky Center in Boise due to extenuating circumstances, but organizers found the next best thing and it is closer to home for Eagle residents. The Eagle Food and Wine Festival Gala and Auction on Friday, Aug. 21, from 6:30-10:30 p.m. is now being held in a vacant commercial building at 950 E. Riverside Dr. in Eagle.
The new venue which is large enough to hold all the guests who will pay $75 per ticket to enjoy a catered dinner, silent auction and take turns spinning the wine wheel for prizes, became available and is exactly what organizers had in mind for the fund raising event. Guests spend the evening mingling with representatives from signature wineries and enjoying wine tastings that go down even smoother accompanied by vintner conversations. Proceeds go to Meals on Wheels and to help fund youth programs at The Landing Community.
Teri Bath, president of the Eagle Chamber of Commerce said, "The Gala and Auction is a fun event, but if you can't make it to the gala, be sure to attend the Third Annual Eagle Food and Wine Festival on Saturday, Aug. 22."
Saturday's festivities at Merrill Park (637 E. Shore Dr. in the Eagle River Development) run from noon-6 p.m. and include wine tasting for $20 per person and the opportunity to pay $50 for a reserved spot in the Chef's Tent where Idaho chefs prepare their signature dishes paired with regional and local wines. For more information, visit eaglechamber.com.
