More Complicated Journo Questions

I am working from one of my offices—Big City Coffee—this morning, sipping some Brazilian coffee and thinking about checking out the day old basket, when a man behind me offers me a place plate of neatly cut pastries that he promises have not been touched. I noticed them in a meeting but was too preoccupied penning a food review and missing two other appointments that I was not eavesdropping.

Which is a shame, because the guy was Gary Daniel, spokesman for the Idaho Capitol Commission meeting with über-architect Charles Hummel, whose grandfather designed the original Statehouse (Daniel said), and a few others, discussing plans for an Idaho Capitol restoration documentary of sorts.

I took the plate from him, because I am like that. I like to share.

We got to chatting, he named dropped the Capitol Commission, I name dropped Paul Hosefros, a sometimes-BW photog who has been shooting the restoration and then I realized he was Gary Daniel. We chatted about Otter's shower in his new offices and he told me about the geothermal heating that courses through the new building.

So here's the second question: Can I take half-eaten pastries paid for by the Idaho State Capitol Commission? Gosh, I sure hope so....
