It looks like theres one more candidate crowding into the race for the states 1st Congressional District seat, but this time its a Republican.
Nampa resident Matt Salisbury has announced he will run against incumbent Bill Sali for the Republican nomination.
Salisbury, 34, is a veteran of the Iraq War, and was singled out by President George Bush during an August 2005 visit to Idaho. According to the Idaho Press-Tribune
, Salisbury is running on a platform of service to the people, rather than the advancement of a political career.
Salisbury was could not be reached for comment.
Salisbury is just the latest of five declared candidates
for the office. Democratic challengers include Larry Grant, who will make his second run for the office, Rand Lewis and Walt Minnick.
