Another Summer Music Festival?

Heck yes, it's another music festival. You haven't celebrated summer until you've traveled outside your general vicinity to sit on a grassy knoll with hundreds or thousands of fellow travelers and listened to hours and hours of live music.
The choices for where to go and who to hear are almost boundless, but the Treasure Island Music Festival stands out for three reasons. 1) It's held on the island built for the 1939 World's Fair (in the middle of the San Francisco Bay). 2) It's the festival's inaugural event, so may be the start of something spectacular (and you can say you were there). 3) Boise's own Built to Spill is on the lineup with the likes of Modest Mouse, Thievery Corporation, Spoon, Gotan Project, DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist, M.I.A., Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and a number of local Bay Area bands and musicians.
Treasure Island Music Festival runs September 15-16, tickets are $58.50 for one day, two-day tickets are $110 but are limited. For more information, visit treasureislandfestival.com.
