Tribune: Police Find Naked Man, Minus Penis

The headline in this morning's Lewiston Tribune is an eye-popper: "Naked Man Found in Street Minus Penis."

The incident occurred in the pre-dawn hours of July 16, in Clarkston, Wash., where police said they discovered an unidentified 62-year-old man, lying in a pool of blood. The conscious man was rushed to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, where he continues to recover from his injuries.

A trail of blood led law enforcement several hundred yards away, to the man's severed penis. Police also discovered a serrated knife and the man's boxer shorts. Police rushed the organ to the hospital, according to the Tribune, but it was unknown if surgery was successful.

A Detective with the Asotin County (Wash.) Sheriff's Office said the man had no recollection of how the injury occurred.
