A former vice principal of Burley High School was sentenced to two consecutive four- to 14-year prison terms July 16 for sexually abusing two girl at the Magic Valley school.

This morning's Twin Falls Times-News reports that 41-year-old Tara Bagley, under a plea agreement, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual abuse committed by lewd or lascivious acts on a minor child 16 to 17 years old. Five additional charges of sexual battery of a minor were dismissed.

Prior to her sentencing, Bagley apologized to her victims and said she took responsibility for the harm she caused to the victims, schools and community.

"The victims were students at your school under your supervision," District Judge Micahel Crabtree told Bagley. "Their perception of you was of a mentor, supervisor and as a role model."

Bagley was also ordered to pay a civil penalty of $5,000 to each victim, along with court costs.
