UPDATE: Police Investigating Child Drowning in West Boise

UPDATE: June 13 6 p.m.
The Ada County Coroner identified a June 12 drowning victim as 6-year-old Mohamed Hassan.

The child was discovered in a pool at Arbor Crossing Apartments on the 5100 block of Stoker Lane at approximately 6:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center about one hour later.

Boise Police continue to investigate the incident but initial evidence indicates that the drowning may have been accidental.

The Ada County Coroner and Boise Police continue to investigate the tragic death of a 6-year-old boy found in a private pool in a west Boise neighborhood the evening of June 12.

Police said the boy was discovered around 6:30 p.m. in a pool at Arbor Crossing Apartments on the 5100 block of Stoker Lane. CPR was in progress as emergency responders arrived on the scene, but the child was pronounced dead a short time later at a local hospital.

The child's name has not yet been released.
