A Spokane woman was locked up in the Twin Falls County Jail after police said the woman stole musical instruments worth thousands of dollars and sold them for scrap, collecting only about $200.
This morning's Twin Falls Times-News reports that 28-year-old Laura Mitchell was charged with burglary and felony theft by possession of stolen property.
Law enforcement accused Mitchell of breaking into a Twin Falls home and stealing two tubas, a trombone and other items. One of the tubas was worth $1,400. The trombone's value was approximately $1,000-$2,000. But the tubas turned up at the Pacific Steel Recycling Center in Twin Falls. Mitchell reportedly received $56 for the tubas. Mitchell later told police that she had sold the trombone to Dunkley's Music in Boise for $150.
