Can't Touch That: Boise Man Arrested Following Hammer Fight

A Boise man is behind bars after Boise Police said he swung a hammer at another man in a brawl the evening of May 4.

Law enforcement was called to the 500 block of N. Meadowland Lane just before midnight May 4. That's where witnesses said two men, known to one another, were fighting over a financial situation.

47-year-old Amos Smith of Boise was booked into the Ada County Jail on a felony charge of aggravated assault.

Several hours later, Boise Police responded to a report of a vehicle break-in the morning of May 5 on the 1200 block of W. Norristown St. That's where they spotted 24-year-old Zachary Davis of Boise inside a truck, tearing up the seats and plastic trim. Additionally, police said the suspect had arrived at the location driving another vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Garden City.

Davis was charged with felony counts of malicious injury to property, burglary and possession of stolen property. He was also charged with being under the influence of methamphetamine and resisting and obstructing.
