A North Idaho third-grader has been singled out as the Gem State's finalist in the Doodle 4 Google competition, in which more than 130,000 students submitted their ideas of what a Google homepage should look like. The competition was open to K-12 students, using the theme "My Best Day Ever."
Natasha DiBiase, who attends Lake City Junior Academy in Hayden Lake, included her dog Satchmo in her doodle, which she titled "Becoming a Veterinarian." She told the Google folks that her doodle was inspired after Satchmo got sick but received some help from the family vet. According to the Coeur d'Alene Press, DiBiase's said her "best day ever is when I become a veterinarian."
DiBiase's doodle will be displayed at the Museum of Natural History in New York City later this month, along with all of the competition's state winners. She's also competing for a $30,000 college scholarship and a $50,000 technology grant for her school.
