The campus of Washington State University was still reeling this morning in the wake of a weekend assault on a WSU instructor fighting for his life.
Pullman, Wash., police responded to a disturbance early on March 30 at the Adams Mall. That's where they found 41-year-old David Warner—a professor of ethnic studies—unconscious in the mall's parking lot with a serious head injury. Police said a witness saw someone punch Warner, but police were still reviewing camera footage of the incident and interviewing witnesses through much of the weekend.
Warner remains in critical condition at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
Meanwhile Pullman police have posted photos from surveillance cameras in hopes that witnesses contact law enforcement at 509-334-0802.
