A Wood River Republican who lost the November 2012 election for the Idaho House has still made his way to the Statehouse—as a fill-in legislator.
This morning's Idaho Mountain Express reports that Lee Barron, who lost to Gooding Democratic Rep. Donna Pence, has been filling in for Fairfield Republican Rep. Steve Miller this week.
"I'm sure it's a slap in the face to some of the people up there in Ketchum," Barron told the Mountain Express.
Barron said he's been taking Miller's place on the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee, House Agricultural Affairs Committee and the House Resources and Conservation Committee.
Miller is currently in Texas, attending a meeting of the National Association of Conservation Districts.
Barron told the Mountain Express that filling in for Miller was "giving him good experience that could help when he runs for Pence's seat again in 2014."
