A court date has been slated for a Lewis County man, accused of roughing up three children at a Craigmont elementary school on Dec. 17. Byron Edwards, 35, of Reubens will face three counts of injury to a child when he appears in Nez Perce Magistrate Court on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Law enforcement accused Edwards of slapping, kicking, tripping and holding a child in a headlock at Highland Elementary School on Dec. 17. Edwards was visiting his fifth-grade son when the incident occurred.

A no-contact order has been issued, forbidding Edwards from having any contact with the alleged victims or their families.
